Local Lady Living the Sweet Life

Kim Holbrook is not your
average, “cookie cutter” kind of girl.
She’s ALL homemade. A graduate on the
Monroe-Woodbury School District and now
resident entrepreneur, Kim is now ‘rolling
in the Dough’. And by that, I mean
literally. Kim is the owner/operator of
Lady Fingers Bake Shoppe in Central Valley.
This gourmet bakery and café has hit the
ground running and it looks and tastes like
4 stars.
Graduating with honors in
Culinary & Pastry Arts from the New York
Restaurant School, Kim went on to intern in
some of New York’s top restaurants such as
Mesa Grille and Union Square. Working her
way through her young career she ended up as
a top pastry chef and general manager at one
of the best bakery café in Rockland County;
located in the very popular and bohemish
town of Nyack, NY, called The Runcible
Spoon.
After starting her family
seven years later, a simple twist of fate
led her to decide not to return to the
Runcible. Crumb by crumb, Kim started to
take orders from family and friends for her
specialty cakes and cookie favors. Works of
ART, her desserts got so popular; she then
started filling orders for the local area
restaurants. Finally, her kitchen was just
too small. So it was either pack it in or
pack it up and move to a larger space.
Thank goodness for our taste
buds that she chose to move to a space that
she could call her own. Located at 427 Route 17M Monroe NY 10950, Kim has a
first-of-its-kind bakery café in our area.
Filled with all made from scratch, delicious
croissants, pastries, muffins, quiches,
cookies, cakes, tarts and squares, along
with a selection of delicious coffees as
well. It’s a real pleasure to stop in for a
cup and a bite and not only be treated to
city-quality food but get a hometown,
friendly, feeling.
Now her endeavor into light
lunch faire has brought her café to the next
level. Fresh and healthy Nuevo salads,
sandwiches, and soups are available for our
enjoyment. As well as refreshing flavored
iced teas, iced coffees, and the must
have, iced hot chocolate.
